How it works

Press Record.
Move the region while you record to follow what you’re showing. Pause to skip the dull parts; paused time is left out of the GIF.
03 / Share
Stop, and it’s saved.
The GIF lands in your Downloads folder, or a folder you choose once. Play it back in the app or show it in Finder.

Your screen shows messages, documents and passwords. GojiGif makes no network connections at all, so recordings and GIFs never leave your Mac. macOS asks for Screen Recording permission once, when you first record.

Is GojiGif free?
Yes. There’s no account, trial or subscription, and the app has no paid features.
Which Macs does it run on?
Any Mac with macOS 12.3 Monterey or later, on Apple Silicon or Intel. One download covers both. macOS 12.3 is when Apple added the screen-capture technology GojiGif is built on.
Why does it need Screen Recording permission?
macOS requires it for any app that reads what’s on screen. GojiGif asks the first time you record, and you can turn it off in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Screen Recording. It asks for nothing else.
Where are my GIFs saved?
In your Downloads folder by default. Click Save to… to choose another folder; GojiGif remembers it. After each recording, the app tells you which folder the GIF went to.
Is there a Windows version?
It’s in development. We’ll release it once it has been tested properly. Follow the release feed to hear when it’s out.
Where can I find security updates?
Releases include SHA256 checksums, and macOS builds are signed by Wolfberry AB and notarized by Apple. Follow the security advisories or the release feed. Report a vulnerability to security@wolfberry.se; we aim to acknowledge reports within 72 hours. Machine-readable contact details are in security.txt.
